What it does
A demo of the everyday people system a multi-site business needs: who’s working, who’s late, what needs approval and what this pay period will cost. Each part of the app has its own page, so you can link straight to the schedule or the approvals queue.
Who can use it
- Managers who build schedules and approve time
- Employees checking shifts, clocking in and requesting time off
- HR and payroll staff closing a pay period
Where it fits
- Any team paid by the hour, across one site or several
How to use it
- Open the app; it starts as a manager on a sample hotel
- Use View as (top right) to switch between manager, employee and HR
- Try the schedule, the time clock and the approvals queue
- Reset the demo from Settings at any time
Limitations
- Every person, hotel and number is fictional
- Changes are saved only in this browser
- Payroll tax amounts are simplified estimates, not payroll advice
What's next
- Connect to a real time-clock export
- Restaurant and retail templates
Run it on your own data
- In the browser (today)Free, no sign-up. What you enter stays on your device. Good for trying it and for small teams.
- On your files or databasePoint the same logic at your exports or a database view (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Azure SQL or DuckDB), on your own machine or network.
- As a pipeline and warehouseA scheduled ETL job pulls from your systems (reservations, point of sale, inventory, payroll) into a star-schema warehouse, runs data-quality checks, and the tool or a Power BI report reads the result every morning.
What that adds here
- A shared database so managers and staff see the same schedule on every device
- Sign-in by role, and an export to your payroll provider
How I'd set it up for you
I'd map your exports or database to the tool's model, package the job in a container that runs on your server or cloud account, add the checks your data needs, and hand over the code and a runbook. Your data stays on your systems. Get in touch if you'd like it fitted to your business.
