What it does
The command centre is the top layer of the BI toolkit: it reads from a star-schema warehouse of about 640,000 sample bookings and answers the questions a commercial meeting asks. The same model and checks carry over to restaurant and retail chains, where bookings become orders and rooms become seats or stock.
Who can use it
- Revenue and commercial leads
- Multi-site operators
- BI analysts
Where it fits
- Monthly and weekly commercial reviews
- Channel and commission decisions
- Spotting demand you're turning away
How to use it
- Open the dashboard on the sample five-site group
- Filter by site, period and channel
- Use the pace chart to compare with last year
- Check net revenue by channel after commission
Limitations
- Runs on a synthetic sample group, not real data
- The data is prepared ahead of time rather than refreshed live
What's next
- Scheduled ETL into Azure SQL Database so it refreshes like a real group's
- Restaurant and retail editions on the same star schema
Run it on your own data
- In the browser (today)Free, no sign-up. What you enter stays on your device. Good for trying it and for small teams.
- On your files or databasePoint the same logic at your exports or a database view (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Azure SQL or DuckDB), on your own machine or network.
- As a pipeline and warehouseA scheduled ETL job pulls from your systems (reservations, point of sale, inventory, payroll) into a star-schema warehouse, runs data-quality checks, and the tool or a Power BI report reads the result every morning.
What that adds here
- Load bookings or sales from your systems into a star-schema warehouse every night
- Run the ten data-quality checks before anything reaches the dashboard
How I'd set it up for you
I'd map your exports or database to the tool's model, package the job in a container that runs on your server or cloud account, add the checks your data needs, and hand over the code and a runbook. Your data stays on your systems. Get in touch if you'd like it fitted to your business.
